About Anzac Biscuit: Anzac Biscuit Australian Food is one of the sweet and popular biscuits which was made by the Australian Women and Wives to help the Australian and New Zealand Army Crops during World War I. The Anzac Biscuit are still with the best in terms of raising funds for the Australians and Kiwis and are prepared for commercial sales by the women. Also, the Anzac Biscuits appeared in the War Chest Cookery Book with a different biscuit altogether and today the biscuits are called Rolled Oats Biscuits. Today, the biscuits are also sold for retail sales and officially produced by Unibic under license.

How to make Anzac Biscuit:


. 85 Gram porridge oat

. 85 Gram Desiccated Coconut

. 100 Gram Plain Flour

. 100 Gram Caster Sugar

. 100 Gram Butter, Plus Extra Butter for the greasing

. 1 Tablespoon Golden Syrup

. 1 Tablespoon Bicarbonate of Soda

Method to make Anzac Biscuit:

1. Heat oven to 180 Celsius/ Fahrenheit or 160 Celsius or setting the knob to Gas 4. Now, put the Oats, Coconut, Sugar and Flour in a bowl. Melt some of the butter in a small pan and stir it in the golden syrup. The Soda bicarbonate is added to 2 Tbsp of boiling water along with stirring it to the golden syrup which is the butter mixture.

2. Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and pour the butter and golden syrup mixture. The ingredients are further stir gently and incorporated.

3. Put the desserts or the spoonfuls along with mixing with buttered baking sheets which is about 2.5 Cm/1 Inch apart. Also, allow it to settle at room temperature and then bake the batches for 8-10 minutes until the biscuit becomes golden. Transfer it further to a wire rack to get it cool.

4. Once it gets cool, put it in a jar and store at cool dry place and then enjoy the delicious and nutritious food which has been loved by the earlier generations and the same could be said for the current generations.
