About Reconciliation Day Festival: Reconciliation Day is a public holiday in Australian Capital territory and was observed in 2018. It is also celebrated with aboriginal culture and promoting of cultural exchange and understanding. The Reconciliation day is a public holiday within Australian capital territory and it also marks the beginning of Australian Capital Territory. The 7 days nationwide observance was first of all held in 1996. The words of Reconciliation Australia and it gives people across Australia with the opportunity also to focus between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians. The week is dedicated to theme based programs such as Let’s talk recognition(2011) and Reconciliation:Keeping the flame alive(2001) and Communities Working Together(1998).

Reconciliation Day Festival Celebration: The civil rights which is much talked about was first seen in terms of protest and civil rights agitation with activism by the indigenous and non-indigenous Australians to give an end to the injustice in working environment with country’s ethnic groups. The outcome of the 1967 referendum also constituted with a resounding victory for the civil rights in Australia. The Australian Capital Territory with considering reconciliation day as a public holiday and with the 300,000 people walking across Sydney Harbour Bridge as part of NRW made the tradition memorable and also different events take part in commemorating Reconciliation Day as first day of National Reconciliation Week thus facilitating many other programs to continue for the entire week.
